New York Mets opened the 1969 season with a three-game series at Shea Stadium against the Montreal Expos at Shea Stadium.

On April 10, 1969, the final game of series, Tommie Agee hit a home run into the left field upper deck. According to unofficial records, Agee’s HR traveled 505 feet, the longest in Shea Stadium history.
