Davey Johnson’s only regret
Despite being the winningest manager in Mets franchise history, Davey Johnson has one lingering regret.
Davey Johnson turned 82 in January. I can only imagine how proud he must be when he reflects on his life and career in Major League Baseball.
Johnson played 13 major league seasons (Orioles, Braves, Phillies and Cubs) and managed for 17 more (Mets, Reds, Dodgers, Orioles and Nationals), winning a World Series with the Mets and being named Manager of the Year twice. As a player, Johnson was a four-time All Star and three-time Gold Glove winner.
