"We had a great ball club. We just didn't have any pitching. We scored a lot of runs but we lost a bunch of games in the late innings. It was great playing in New York. I really enjoyed playing for Casey Stengel. I've always said that he probably forgot more baseball than I'll ever know." — Frank Thomas on the 1962 Mets
