New York Mets manager Carlos Mendoza announced that Kodai Senga will start Game 1 of the National League Championship Series on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Senga pitched in one regular season game, allowing two runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched before he suffered a high-grade calf strain and was sidelined the last two months. He made a surprising return when he started Game 1 of the NLDS vs. Phillies, pitching two innings and giving up one run, a long home run by Kyle Schwarber in the first inning.
