The Los Angeles Dodgers score a pair of runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh inning to defeat the New York Mets, 4-0, at Shea Stadium.

Nolan Ryan pitched seven innings and took the loss. His final line: 7 IP, 4 ER, 8 H, 5 K, 5 BB.

New York mustered six hits including a double by Tommie Agee, the only extra base hit by the Mets in the game.
