Bob Murphy, Lindsey Nelson and Ralph Kiner are on the call as the Mets play the Pirates
The New York Mets carried a skinny 2-1 lead to the eighth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Polo Grounds … and the bullpen imploded, allowing seven runs in the eighth inning. The Mets pitching and defense surrendered six hits, two errors and a walk in the inning including a three-run HR by Bill Virdon.
Final: Pirates - 11, Mets - 3.
