The Chicago Cubs and New York Mets made Major League Baseball history playing the first-ever game outside of North America (the Mets and Padres did play a series in Mexico in 1996).
Tokyo pulled out all the stops. As more than 55,000 Japanese baseball fans filled the seats including the Crown Prince Naruhito, fans feasted on sushi and a group of Japanese women presented flowers to both teams and the umpires.
