How did it come to be that the Mets chose to retire David Wright's No. 5? Here's the story with a little help from my friends.

The New York Mets announced last week that David Wright’s No. 5 will be retired next July at Citi Field. The news set off a social media debate.

There was no question that Mets fans admire Wright, but the one question a lot of fans were asking was: Why David Wright?
