No disrespect to Tommie Agee, Mookie Wilson, Lee Mazzilli or any New York Mets centerfielders, current or former, but Carlos Beltran stands alone as the greatest player to play the position.
No one even comes close.
Beltran played 7+ years with the Mets and batted .280 with 149 HR, and 559 RBI. He made the NL All-Star team five times and won three Gold Glove Awards as a Met. He ranks among the Top 10 Mets franchise history in hits, doubles, HR, RBI, runs, extra base hits, OBP, SLG, OPS and walks.
