The Labor Day weekend started with a bang for the New York Mets, defeating the Chicago White Sox, 5-1. As for the Southsiders, they are now 6-16 in Friday series openers. The Sox are now 31-105 in 2024, and on pace make history for the worst single season record — of course, currently held by the 1962 Mets - 40-120-1) — in modern history.
At this point, Chicago White Sox fans aren’t sure if they should put the paper bags on their head collective heads or heave their overpriced concession purchases into them.
