Keith Hernandez has done it again. The former Mets 1B turned SNY analyst was caught on an open mic Wednesday being critical of the Mets offense.

I don’t know Hernandez, but after listening to him for two decades I do know one thing about him: He loathes poor fundies. So, when the Mets continued to sputter offensively — 3-for-16 with RISP — he let it fly, calling the team’s performance “piss poor.”

But, that is Keith — and that is why he is beloved by today’s fanbase. He coughs and sometimes yawns on mic during games. His open, honest, unpolished style is what makes him a perfect fit in New York.
