Former New York Mets outfielder Ken Singleton will join the Society of American Baseball Research (SABR) Oral History Committee chair John McMurray will host the Zoom interview and open the floor to questions from fans.
The event, which is open to all fans, will be held on Wednesday, September 18 at 7:30 p.m. (edt).
Singleton was drafted by the Mets in the 1st round (3rd overall pick) of the 1967 amateur draft. He was promoted to New York in 1970 and played his first two major league seasons in Queens. He batted .252 in 184 games (1970-1971) with 18 HR and 72 RBI.
Singleton was traded to the Montreal Expos with Tim Foli and Mike Jorgensen for Rusty Staub just days before the 1972 MLB season.
The SABR Oral History Collection includes more than 750 interviews conducted with players (Major Leagues, Minor Leagues, Negro Leagues, AAGBBL), executives, scouts, authors, writers, broadcasters, and other figures of historical baseball significance.
