The fact that it took six decades for a New York Mets pitcher to record the first-ever no-hitter in franchise history is beyond belief. I mean, this is an organization that was built on great pitching.
Long before Johan Santana, there was Tom Seaver, Jerry Koosman, Dwight Gooden, Bob Ojeda, Frank Viola, Nolan Ryan, Jon Matlack, Gary Gentry, David Cone, Al Leiter, Pedro Martinez, Tom Glavine, etc.
