Radical ideas are most often meant with a high level resistance, until the idea works, then the idea becomes part of the mainstream.

I typically don’t write about the Mets like a beat reporter, day in and day out news, lineups, and game wraps. My bread and butter is Mets history. But I feel the urge to address the current state of the Mets. So, if you will, please indulge me.

That’s exactly what led the New York Mets into the deep funk they are currently in — losers of seven straight and 9 1/2 games behind in the National League East.
